RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Hungary supports Romania's accession to the Schengen Area and asks Austria to stop opposing this. "I want to politely invite them, so as not to say that I am calling on the Austrian officials to agree to the accession of our Romanian friends to the Schengen Area", said, in Timisoara, in a joint press conference with Sorin Grindeanu, the foreign minister of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto.

Peter Szijjarto: "Hungary's national interest is for Romania to join the Schengen Area this year. From then on we will have 10 new border crossings and we should have no waiting time anywhere along the border between the two countries."

Romania is Hungary's third most important export market and a popular investment place for Hungarian capital, Peter Szijjarto also said, and added that a minority of Romanians lives on the territory of Hungary and a minority of Hungarians on the territory of Romania.
