State-owned company Hidroelectrica, the largest electricity producer in Romania, has been fined 74.000 lei by the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing.
A press release from this institution states that an investigation into the matter proved that Hidroelectrica breached data security when launching its own application, due to a technical error and insufficient testing.
This led to the unauthorized disclosure of personal data belonging to a significant number of individuals.
In addition, the state-owned company was obliged to carry out more tests to prevent such situations.
