RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - We are in the hottest period of this summer - gradually, the maximum temperatures will rise up to 40 degrees Celsius in some areas.
The beginning of August is not expected to be cooler either, as the general director of the National Meteorological Administration, Elena Mateescu, explained to RRA:
Elena Mateescu: From today, the temperature values will be increasing in almost all the country, but especially in the west and south, where we expect to record values of 38-39 degrees Celsius, isolated, in the southern extremity, values of even 40 degrees Celsius. Last but not least, nights will be tropical, temperatures will not fall below 20 degrees Celsius, and the temperature-humidity index will certainly exceed the critical threshold of 80 units in many areas in the west, south and east of the country. Also, the felt temperature will also have significant values of 42, possibly 45 degrees. There is a fairly high probability of recording values of 37-38 degrees Celsius in the first days of August, especially in the southern, southeastern part of Romania.
