Thursday, August the 8th and Friday, August the 9th will be warm weather across the country.
In Banat, Crişana, Maramures, Oltenia, most of Transylvania and the western half of Wallachia will be heat, the maximum temperature will exceed 36 ... 37 degrees, and the temperature-humidity index will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units of thermal discomfort.
In Satu Mare, Bihor, Arad, Timis, Caras Severin, Mehedinti the heat will intensify, the thermal highs will be between 37 and 40 degrees, and the thermal discomfort will be particularly emphasized, so the forecasters issued an orange alert code.
For Maramures, Salaj, Bistrita Nasaud, Cluj, Mures, Alba, Hunedoara, Sibiu, Gorj, Dolj, Olt, Valcea, Arges, Dâmboviţa, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov and Bucharest forecasters have issued a yellow alert code, and the temperature-humidity index will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units of thermal discomfort.
The thermal comfort index is an index that corroborates the air with the relative humidity (physical quantity equivalent to the quantity of water vapor that exists in a gaseous mixture of air and water) to determine the apparent temperature, the one felt by the human body.
Normally, the body is cooled by transpiration, a process during which the water evaporates, and as a result the heat retained is reduced.
When the relative humidity is high, the rate of evaporation of water is reduced.
This means a slower cooling of the body that retains more heat than it would in dry air.
The critical threshold is 80.
In places where the value is equal or greater, the population has to protect themselves adequately.
