The Ministry of Health launched the public debate on legislative changes that will underpin the reform process.

The Ministry of Health is preparing the reorganization and released for public debate the legislative changes which will be the basis of this action.

The announcement was made by Minister Eugen Nicolaescu, according to which all changes are made ​​solely in the interest of the patient.

"Health reform cannot be delayed.”

"The year 2013 will be the year of radical changes in the Romanian health.”

"What now begins, the reorganization, is the first step.”

"Reform is not in the interest groups or those who have nothing in your head than citizens.
"The reform is made by us solely for the citizen, for the patient," said Minister of Health.

According to the draft government decision, posted on the website of the Ministry of Health, the new structure provides eight regional health authorities and 8 regional ambulance services.

8 regional authorities

County public health departments are reorganized into 8 regional authorities having as subordinates 34 county public health offices and the county ambulance services in 8 regional services with 33 regional stations.

According to the project proposal for funding the main purpose of reorganization is to strengthen the administrative capacity of the Ministry of Health.

Through this project will be reduced also the maximum number of positions within the Ministry to 280 employees, except the officials and minister's cabinet positions.
Budget savings

Health Minister, Eugen Nicolaescu, announced Tuesday that the county public health departments and the county public health insurance will be abolished, the measure planning to bring savings to the budget.

Sanitas Federation representatives said they will request the Ministry of Health to sign an agreement to ensure that the reorganization of public health departments and public health insurance funds will be made in consultation with the federation and that the savings obtained will be redistributed in the system.
