General Manager of the National Health Insurance House Dorin Ionescu announced that county health insurance houses will suspend work until Monday.
Dorin Ionescu stated on Radio Romania News that no certificates of insurance will be issued until Monday and no payments will be made because the integrated computer system is operating at reduced performance.
This system verifies and validates the health care services, taking into account all the data on insured people, physicians or providers.
President of the National Health Insurance House Lucian Duţă said that as far as the Health Insurance House of Bucharest Municipality is regarded, there are 50,000 people who would have to pay their debts within these days, namely 600 people a day.
‘600 people would have to pay their contributions to health daily within this period of time. We have five counters. These people have two payment alternatives, by bank transfer or to CEC Bank, but they refuse to use alternative methods’, stated Lucian Duţă.
Neither the NHIH nor the partners with whom the system was build are to blame for this situation. There is a structural level failure about which the mother-company in USA was informed during the night. We have received a solution that will be tested’, said the NHIH president.
