Hariclea Darclée International Voice Competition 25 July-6 August

A new edition of the International Voice Competition dedicated to the memory of the legendary soprano Hariclea Darclée begins today in Brăila.

There are 200 young performers from around the world who compete for prizes worth over 35,000 dollars.

Soprano Mariana Nicolesco, initiator of the event: "This is more than an ordinary Canto contest.

It's also a competition, Master Class and a true music festival.

That's what makes it incomparable and unique".

In parallel with the International Festival in Brăila, under the high patronage of UNESCO, the audience is invited to a conference dedicated to baritone Nicolae Herlea, a piano recital by pianist Matei Varga, an opera show and a concert on the Danube Esplanade.
