Simona Halep has won her first Wimbledon title on Saturday, after defeating Serena Williams.

Simona Halep has won her first Wimbledon title on Saturday, after defeating Serena Williams in two sets, 6-2, 6-2.

It is the first Wimbledon trophy of the Romanian player and her second Grand Slam title, after Roland Garros in 2018.

This year’s Wimbledon tournament is the first that has been won by a Romanian. Ilie Năstase played here two finals, which he both lost, in 1972 and 1976.
