The government promises support measures to increase the competitiveness of companies in the automotive industry.
On Friday in Sibiu, where he visited an automotive equipment factory which exports its entire production, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu emphasized the importance of this sector for the Romanian economy.
Marcel Ciolacu: Of Romania's top 100 exporters, 50 are either producers of components for the automotive industry or car manufacturers. In other words, apart from the two big factories in Pitesti and Craiova, Dacia and Ford, a whole industry has developed horizontally. Exports in this area of activity represent around EUR 30 billion annually. We are still concerned about Romania's trade balance, where, even if we have reduced it by almost €4 billion, I think we can do much more.
In Sibiu, the Prime Minister also visited the NATO Multinational Southeast Corps Command and the Nicolae Balcescu Land Forces Academy.
