State budget law, one of the three laws for which the Romanian Government assumed responsibility, could enter into force on January 6, 2020, if not challenged at the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR), Deputy Prime Minister Raluca Turcan has announced on Monday.
Bills on reorganization of several ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education, were also presented at first reading.
As Prime Minister Ludovic Orban said, reorganization of the Interior Ministry and the Defense Ministry would take longer, because it needs endorsement of the Country's Supreme Defense Council. Final decision is to be taken around January 15.
Current Romanian Liberal Government has 16 Ministries, as compared to the 24 of the previous Social Democratic Cabinet headed by Viorica Dăncilă.
Also on Monday, the excise duties on cigarettes were increased.
