"George Enescu" Festival: Baltic Sea Philharmonic, at the Athenaeum

The third day of the "George Enescu" Festival brings to the public on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum in the capital the Baltic Sea Philharmonic, an orchestra with artists from 10 Nordic countries, including Sweden, Estonia, Denmark, but also Russia. On the program tonight is Mozart; on another stage, at the Palace Hall, Beethoven, but also Adámek with the London Symphony Orchestra.
Reporter: Mihaela Helmis - On the second night of the festival, the London Symphony Orchestra presents for the first time in Romania Ondřej Adámek's song "Where are you" for voice and orchestra, a composition made especially for mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kozena and the great conductor Sir Simon Rattle. Also present in the evening program is the long-awaited Symphony number 6 in F Major opus 68 pastoral by Ludwig van Beethoven.
No less than 32 orchestras from 14 countries participate in this year's edition of the "George Enescu" International Festival. Several soloists who had sold out concerts in previous editions return to the festival's stage: Joshua Bell, Joyce Didonato, Yuja Wang, Philippe Jaroussky, Maxim Vengerov, Valery Gergiev, Daniele Gatti, as well as the pianist Maria Joao Pires, who today plays Mozart on the Athenaeum stage, together with the Baltic Sea Philharmonic.
Conductor Kristjan Järvi brings to the concert Enescu, Symphony II in A major opus 17, as well as his own composition entitled "Aurora".
