The emergency ordinance for regulating the energy market will be adopted tomorrow.
Today, this project was analyzed in the government meeting, project through which it is intended to protect the population, the agri-food industry, small and medium-sized enterprises and investors.
The government proposed to overtax the entire chain of production, intermediation and distribution of electricity and that of natural gas, especially since in this period, when the prices of the two utilities have increased, the intermediaries make very high profits. Exactly these profits will be taxed additionally.
The government is now considering the emergency ordinance that will make this overtaxing and set a reference price above which this tax will apply.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said that the priority is to protect the population by keeping the tariffs that already exist now in a normative act, but it will also protect the business environment and investments because they are the engine of a healthy economy.
The prime minister also announced that the emergency ordinance for overtaxation will be adopted in the new government meeting tomorrow, and the decision on the winter program will be adopted next week.
