The Gaudeamus Radio Romania Book Fair in Craiova officially opened its doors in the foyer of the Marin Sorescu National Theatre.

Dozens of publishers and book distribution agencies from all over the country are exhibiting over 10.000 titles, many of them recently published and presented for the first time at a book fair.

The Honorary President of the Gaudeamus Radio Romania Fair, Lucian Dindirica, spoke at the opening about the importance of reading in our lives:

Lucian Dindirică: All those present here are people who serve the book. They know very well how important a book is, because it gives you a real, alternative reality of the life we live. It gives us a lot of life advice, it gives us examples that we can apply in our daily lives. The books make us transpose and identify with characters or use some of the advice they offer in the books we read.

The fair is open until Sunday, and those who can't make it in person also have access to the online version on the "Gaudeamus.ro" website.
