Future government talks

The first four-party discussion - PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR - for a future government is due to take place on Wednesday, December 4.
According to UDMR spokesperson Csoma Botond, this is the first step in exploring the visions of each of the four pro-European parties. He believes that building a four-party coalition is not easy, but that it would be possible if they give up their egos and find a common denominator.
According to the final figures, the four parties would together hold more than 55% of MPs, a figure that would rise after redistribution. The group of three other parties considered sovereignist would have around 37% of the seats in the next legislature.
The exact configuration will not be known until the end of next week, after the redistribution of seats not won by any of the candidates, according to the president of the Permanent Electoral Authority.
The new parliament is due to take office on December 20, when the four-year term of the current legislature expires.
