Romanian Embassy in France has organized, on Friday, a meeting of Ambassadors of EU Member States accredited in Paris, having as Special Guest French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian. Current issues on the European and international agenda were addressed, focusing especially on priorities of the Romanian Presidency at the EU Council.
Romania's Ambassador to France, Luca Niculescu, presented Romania's EU Presidency priorities, emphasizing the four pillars: "Europe of convergence", "Europe of safety", "Europe, global actor" and "Europe of common values". Over the next six months, Romania will place Cohesion at the heart of the European project, for a more united, more convergent and more solid Europe - Romanian Ambassador stated.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian reaffirmed France's support for the success of Romania's EU Council Presidency France shares Romania's aspirations for a Europe of cohesion, he said. Security situation in the Middle East, European defense, forthcoming European Parliament elections, Brexit and future Multiannual Financial Framework are other topics that have been discussed in Paris.
