Former ANAF Head Sorin Blejnar gets final sentence: five years prison

Bucharest Court of Appeal has issued the final sentence, on Tuesday, for former Head of Romanian National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), Sorin Blejnar: five years imprisonment with execution, for influence peddling.
In the first instance, Bucharest Court had sentenced Blejnar to six years in prison.
Judges of the Court upheld previous decision to confiscate the amount of RON 12,500,000 from Sorin Blejnar and to maintain the seizure on his fortune until the amount will be recovered.
Former head of ANAF received this money from a businessman, who helped him win several contracts with ANAF, DNA anti-corruption Prosecutors said.
