Five major decisions in the field of education

Articol de Daniela Vasilescu, 19 August 2022, 22:04

Producer: Alina Petrovici-Matei - The Minister of Education, Sorin Cimpeanu, announced five major decisions on Friday, which resulted from consultations with trade union federations. He wrote, on a social network, that they will be found in the text of the draft law, which will be submitted to the government for adoption. RRA correspondent Daniela Vasilescu reports.

Reporter: Sorin Cimpeanu says that there will be the legal possibility of organizing the own admission competition at high school level, not only at the national ones, the condition being that it takes place immediately after the national assessment exam. The subjects would be developed outside the educational unit, and the students who are not admitted will be assigned by computer to high school, based on the grades obtained in the national exams.

These measures would apply starting from the year 2024, the June session. The Minister of Education also states that he has agreed with the representative unions that the Romanian language and literature, including grammar, should be a separate test in the national Baccalaureate exam. The promotion of this exam will be conditional on obtaining the average of six, and the Baccalaureate in the new form is expected to be implemented in 2027.

The activity of extracurricular education will be reconfigured at the level of the national education system. Thus, children's clubs, as well as school sports clubs will be reorganized as extracurricular education units and will be part of the school network.
