This weekend, the Antipa Museum in the capital offers the public an exhibition of living statues entitled "The reader, a new endangered species".
The number of readers in Romania is steadily falling. According to the latest data published by the National Institute of Statistics, some 11 million Romanians didn't read any books in 2023.
As a result, the museum institution that houses dinosaur skeletons and all sorts of other fossils considers with bitter humor that readers are becoming a rare species.
On Saturday and Sunday, Antipa's staff will be providing visitors with information on the main characteristics of the reader and their objects, discounts and book recommendations.
