The symposium "Eugen Preda, the main mentor of the modern school of radio journalism", a Radio Romania project, is taking place at the Radio Hall, with the participation of a large number of pupils and students.
It is an event dedicated to the first director of Romanian Radio Broadcasting after 1990, who stood out for his efforts to make the institution equidistant in the turbulent political context of that period. It was he who set Radio on a modern course and opened the doors of the institution to young people, journalist Ruxandra Sararu told the participants.
"A man who appreciated inventiveness and free spirit, although he was very rigorous, a man who gave wings to the young generation. I was almost 30 years old when I met him, I was not in my prime, as they say, but he had created an atmosphere in Radio where everyone was becoming young again, everyone was enthusiastic, everyone was obsessed with bringing something new, something good, something unheard of", said Ruxandra Sararu.
Participants have the opportunity to learn and discuss about the ethics and evolution of journalism directly from the professionals at the microphone. The project will also continue in Cluj-Napoca and aims to contribute to the education and training of students in journalism, communication sciences and other related fields of study, giving them concrete examples of professional excellence and journalistic integrity.
