Eurostat: Romania - ninth beer producer in EU
Beer is placed on the third position in world beverage, only water and tea are consumed in larger quantities.

Romania is the ninth largest beer producer in the European Union, according to data centralized by Eurostat and published on Friday, August 3rd. Germany is the leader, producing one of every five beers containing alcohol, followed by the UK and Poland.
Romania produces annually 1.76 billion liters of alcoholic beer. One third of beer exports from the European Union went especially to the United States.
Most beer imports made by the European Union come from Mexico, about 52%.
Eurostat data was published on the occasion of the International Beer Day, which is celebrated since 2008 on the first Friday of August. Beer is placed on the third position in world beverage, only water and tea are consumed in larger quantities.
