European U 21 Championships: Romanian Adina Diaconu wins Gold Medal

Romania’s Adina Diaconu won the women’s singles title at the Butterfly 2019 European Under 21 Championships in Gondomar, Portugal, on Sunday 10th March.

In the final of the Women’s Singles Event at the BUTTERFLY Under 21 European Championships, Adina Diaconu beat Maria Malanina of Russia 4:0 (11, 6, 9, 7). Bronze medalists are Tania Plaian (Romania) and Nadezhda Bogdanova (Belarus), according to International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

In men’s singles, Romania’s Rareș Șipos won the bronze medal, after being defeated in the semifinals by Greek Ioannis Sgouropoulos with 3-4 (11-7, 5-11, 6-11, 4-11, 15-13, 12-10, 9-11).

Six Romanian athletes participated in the European U21 Championships, which took place in Gondomar, Portugal, on 7-10 March, announced the Romanian Table Tennis Federation.
