President Klaus Iohannis stated that Romania is in a pretty good position regarding the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which is under evaluation by the European Commission.
He explained that talks with Brussels are beneficial for its rapid implementation.
European leaders discussed the pandemic recovery measures yesterday, on the last day of the EU summit.
The agenda of the meeting included the European Recovery Plan, worth almost € 700 billion, designed to help European states cope with the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
European leaders also discussed the launch of the COVID digital certificate on 1 July, which the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, said would facilitate travel in the summer months, but also afterwards.
On Thursday, President Klaus Iohannis also attended the EPP meeting here in Brussels, and then decorated the leader of the European People's Party, Donald Tusk, the former president of the European Council, with the National Order "Star of Romania" in the rank of Grand Cross.
On this occasion, President Klaus Iohannis stressed that Donald Tusk significantly supported, as President of the European Council, the actions carried out by the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, contributing to its success.
At the same time, the head of state showed that Donald Tusk had a close relationship with Romania between 2007 and 2014, when he was prime minister of Poland.
