This week’s Strasbourg plenary session of the European Parliament is marked by Wednesday's vote for the new European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen.
According to RRA correspondent in Strasbourg, President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, anticipates a favorable vote so that the new Commission can start its activity from 1 December.
Mandate of the new European Executive has been delayed following rejection by EP of the first proposals of EU Commissioners from Romania, France and Hungary.
Romania’s candidate who has been accepted is Adina Vălean (EPP Group), who will manage the Transport portfolio. Previous Romanian EU Commissioner was Social-Democrat Corina Creţu, who dealt with the Regional Policy.
