Europan Union's multi-annual budget, its efforts to combat climate change and Brexit dossier following UK elections are the main issues to be addressed at the European Council that starts on Thursday in Brussels. Romania is represented by President Klaus Iohannis.
On Agenda: Climate change, long-term EU budget, Confrence on the Future of Europe, External Relations (Turkey, Relations with Russia), Trade, Economic and monetary union, Brexit.
RRA Special Envoy, Oana Bâlă: "President Klaus Iohannis will express support for significant allocations for Cohesion Policy and the Common Agricultural Policy. As regards fight against climate change, Head of State will be in favor of continuing EU's efforts for switching to climate neutrality. President of Romania considers it essential to have a common understanding of the principles and conditions that allow EU Member States to contribute equally to the EU's objective of a circular and climate-neutral economy".
