EU Commissioner Creţu at EU Joint Research Center in Italy
Commissioner Crețu congratulated the community of Romanian researchers and employees in Ispra.

European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Corina Crețu, has paid an official visit, on 24 January, to the EU Joint Research Center (JRC) in Ispra, Italy, that provides necessary counseling and support for building European policies.
Commissioner Crețu congratulated the community of Romanian researchers and employees in Ispra, who thought of inaugurating a Romanian Semester to mark the start of Romania's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
After an exciting opening ceremony - with raising Romanian tricolor flag and inauguration of Semester Symbol, a copy of Table of Silence, created by Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuşi - Corina Crețu stated for Radio Romania News Channel (Radio Romania Actualităţi – RRA):
EUCommissioner Corina Creţu: We discussed cooperation we have between the European Commission and the Joint Research Center, I was glad to see that Romania benefits from direct support from Ispra Joint Institute.Basically, seven Romanian regions benefit from strong and better targeted support in the smart specialization process to improve their innovation system.For example, I saw a very good project on textile production in North-East Romania, Moldavian area.
