Environment Minister, Mircea Fechet, announced that the National Forestry Agency - Romsilva will be restructured because it is inefficient, even though it manages more than half of the National Forest Fund.
He told Radio Romania News correspondent Gabriel Pop that he also plans to cut management posts in the company.
Mircea Fechet: The goal of the company should be profit in any form. However, I can't help comparing forestry directorates with similar forest areas, with similar species of trees that either make losses in the millions or tens of millions, or make a profit, and we are in a situation where a few directorates are practically carrying the bad management of all the others.
Romsilva is one of the 8 institutions subordinated to the Ministry of the Environment that will be restructured.
