The President of the National Agency for Mineral Resources Alexandru Pătruţi, claims that Romania’s crude oil reserves are enough for the next 15 years and the natural gas reserves for the next ten years.
"The remaining crude oil geological reserves that Romania has, add up to 2.02 thousand million tons. The ones that are certain are only 54.8 million tons and they are enough for the next 15 years", Alexandru Pătruţi stated.
According to him, the oilfields are certain fields and they are last for the next 15 years.
The extracted quantities are going to be smaller and smaller, the President of the Agency explained.
According to Alexandru Pătruţi, the expectations are related to the increasing degree of recovery with new technology.
"The expectations are related to the increasing degree of recovery with new technology because the geological resources are much larger than the certain ones. We put our hopes in exploring the deep areas and the offshore ones", the President of the National Agency for Mineral Resources stated.
