Romania has enough natural gas reserves to get through the winter, says Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja, in the context of press reports that gas deposits in the European Union are rapidly depleting.
Sebastian Burduja emphasized that the current stocks in Romania exceed the needs for the cold season.
He explained that we still have 2.000 million m³ of stored gas, and consumption is on average 20 million m³ per day, which means that at the end of winter we will be left with 800 million m³.
The minister also said, in an online post, that last year Romania became the largest producer of natural gas in the European Union, and from 2027 the "Neptun Deep" project will double national production.
