The negotiations concerning the new Labour Code seem to be over before they have even started, although on Friday the fist discussions about clear technical details should have taken place.
The employers and trade unions' representative organizations claim that they do not actually want a new Labour Code after they have initially showed themselves dissatisfied with the content of the project given by Secretary of State for Employment.
From the social partners' point of view the first priority would be the six essential laws for social dialogue: employers law, trade unions law, law of the collective labour agreement, Economic and Social Council law or labour conflict law.
After modifying these laws, if necessary, Labour Code will also suffer some changes, the social partners also stated.
Besides, they say that the project given by the government has been elaborated under the pressure of the Romanian-American Chamber of Commerce and Romanian Investors Council, so they did not take part in this project elaboration.
The employers and the trade unions have decided to meet on Monday in order to discuss about those six laws.
The organizations `representatives said that the Secretary of State for Employment has a deadline of December 15th to present the social dialogue code which includes foresights to Labour Code so that it can be approved.
