Employees will have two more paid days off

Employees will have two more paid days off, on January 6 and 7.

The Chamber of Deputies adopted today the legislative project by which Epiphany and Saint John the Baptist become public holidays.

The vast majority voted for it, but there were also MPs who did not support the legislative initiative proposed by PSD.

USR deputy Cristian Seidler criticized the project and pointed out that there is no labor market impact study for such a measure.

Cristian Seidler: This bill could have been adopted just as well, at the end of last year, in order to be applied this year, only that this year is not an election year. 2024 will be an election year. This is the only reason why you want to grant two more days off paid by employers in Romania.

The project was also adopted by the Senate, so the normative act will be sent to the president for promulgation.

This year, employees have, legally, in addition to vacation, another 15 days off, some of which were in January.
