Electricity consumption down by 5.3% in the first four months of the year

Energy consumption decreased by 5.3% in the first four months of the year, compared to the similar period of 2021, according to the latest report of the National Energy Regulatory Authority - ANRE. Household consumption was down by more than three percent, while industrial consumption was down by 6.3%.
According to the data, electricity production also decreased, by over six percent, between January and April 2022. The largest amount of electricity was produced in hydropower plants - 30% of the total, and in the Cernavoda nuclear power plant - 22%, it is also shown in the ANRE report.
