The National Integrity Agency inspectors notified the Supreme Court Prosecutor's Office of a conflict of interest and, therefore, of incompatibly regarding Senator Ecaterina Andronescu, former Minister of Education.
The documents of the National Integrity Agency show that during her mandate as Minister Ecaterina Andronescu was also the manager of a project of the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development and while occupying that position she received about 40.000 lei.
In response, Senator Ecaterina Andronescu said that she did not receive any money while working on that project.
Ecaterina Andronescu said that ‘since 1 October 2008 and until my mandate came to an end, I received no penny for that project. ‘
Senator Ecaterina Andronescu also wanted to explain ‘these things as clearly as possible, but throughout this period I also fulfilled my duties as professor at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest’.
Moreover, the former Minister of Education said that she would challenge the decision of the National Integrity Agency because until her the mandate as Minister of Education came to an end she did not receive money for that project.
The former Minister for Education, Ecaterina Andronescu, also said that in 2010 she received a verdict from the National Integrity Agency indicating that she was not incompatible.
