The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has launched, today, a new financing scheme for the energy efficiency of buildings in Romania.
The program provides 100 million euros to the residential and business sector in the form of loans for the purchase of equipment and materials that increase the energy efficiency of buildings.
According to Matteo Patrone, EBRD Regional Director for Romania and Bulgaria, this is the first time the EBRD is funding energy efficiency investments in the residential sector.
Credits can be accessed through local partner banks in Romania.
The first local financial institution that joined the program is Banca Transilvania.
