Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on official visit to Bucharest
Visit takes place in the context of the approaching Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first semester of next year.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is in Bucharest today on an official visit, in the context of the approaching Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first semester of next year. It is the first visit PM Rutte is paying to Romania.
Talks with Head of the Romanian Government, Viorica Dăncilă, are to focus on deepening bilateral relationship and concrete ways in which Romania and the Netherlands can work together to support the future objectives of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Dynamics of bilateral economic relations are another objective of this visit, as the Kingdom of the Netherlands is the largest investor in Romania, and the emerging Romanian community in this country makes active and significant contributions to the Dutch economy and society.
Prime Minister Mark Rutte will also be welcomed today at the Cotroceni Palace to discuss with President Klaus Iohannis both bilateral relations and a series of issues related to the main topics on the international and European agenda, such as the EU's consolidation process, negotiations on the future multiannual financial framework for the period 2021-2027, management of the migration phenomenon or Brexit.
