Drug use is increasing across the country, and most the used is cannabis, according to a study presented on Friday by the NAA.
The most vulnerable were the young people aged between 15 and 24, and the youngest consumer was 14 years old.
For their awareness, the organization launched a campaign to prevent the consumption of psychotropic substances.
The NAA Director, Sorin Oprea, said that these substances are more dangerous because there was no research to define the treatments applied to victims.
’No studies were conducted regarding the symptoms of this substance use. So there are no definitive studies and it is therefore very difficult to treat.’
’In Romania, as well as worldwide, there is a substitution treatment only for the opiate drug categories, namely heroin. Otherwise, the other drug categories may be treated with medication’, Sorin Oprea said.
The NAA Director said that the substances with the hallucinogen effect were consumed in all regions, and the most consumers lived in Bucharest-Ilfov.
