Driving licences, harmonised with the European legislation
Mopeds, scooters and ATVs will not be conducted without the permission and the motorists who need to change driving licenses are required to make medical visit.

The new provisions related to the European driving licenses entered into force.
Driving licenses will look like a credit card, with a standard format and security features.
Existing licenses are not affected, but will be replaced at the time of renewal, or until 2033.
Mopeds, scooters and ATVs will not be able to be driven without license, and drivers who have to change driving licenses are required to go for a medical check-up starting today .
Under the new rules, the renewal of driving licenses for drivers of cars and motorcycles will be done once every 10 to 15 years, depending on the member states, and the drivers of buses and lorries have to renew every five years and to conduct a medical check-up.
Romania are in line with European norms in the field
Measure on driving licenses has been adopted by the member states and by the European Parliament in 2006 and will enter into force today in all European Union States.
The new license will replace over 100 models used over 300 million drivers.
Sim Kallas, Commissioner for transport, explained why the need for this change.
"We need to have drivers ' licenses that are easy to read, understandable and very difficult to falsify.
"But here we are talking about more than documents. New rules for driving licenses will also improve security on roads and help combat fraud in this area, "said the commissioner Sim Kallas.
Driving schools, more carefully controlled
Authorities preparing stricter rules for the operation of the schools of the drivers.

"They will have to make a proper proof, used for secretarial activities ,archiving, separate classroom and certainly all these supposed schools that would work in apartments will no longer be able to carry out activities and if there are such cases, from my point of view, work illegally," said Sorin Supuran.
