Simplifying the visa regime for the Chinese citizens who want to come to Romania was one of the issues that have been discussed during the meeting between the President of the Chamber of Deputies Liviu Dragnea and the Chinese Ambassador to Bucharest, Xu Feihong.
Romania should receive more Chinese tourists and it would be beneficial for the economy if business visas would be granted more rapidly, the Head of the Lower House of Parliament said.
Liviu Dragnea: "In other countries in the European Union the procedures are much simpler, people go there also, and we understand that over the past six months only 90 visas could be given by the Embassy in Beijing, which seems very few to me.
Also, the extremely long period required for a Chinese businessman to obtain a visa: over two months. Chinese tourists are all over the globe, and they are wanted by all countries. We have a very big problem, we are placing more and more obstacles, so that they can’t come here to take our tourism away".
According to RRA Reporter Mugur Mihăiţă, other topic of the discussions was the re-launching of the talks about the big investments that the Chinese would start in Romania.
