Dozens of hectares of forest and stubble were destroyed by fire, and in many areas firefighters are still trying to extinguish the outbreaks.
Their action is hampered by the wind that increases and spreads fire but also by the inaccessible roads.
In Sibiu, about 100 firefighters and volunteers are still trying to extinguish a fire broke yesterday near the resort of Cindrel Păltiniş which covers 10 hectares of forest.
Also, in Lotrului Mountains, 60 people involved near Buceciu and Muma peaks, where fire has affected almost three hectares of forest and litter.
Firemen intervention is however hampered by the rugged terrain.
In the last 24 hours, more than 70 hectares of stubble from Olt county were burnt.
Military Firefighters intervened around 22 hours to extinguish all outbreaks. In Harghita, firefighters had another sleepless night because of the fire.
They have watched the outbreaks from Red Lake, Gheorgheni Borsec and Mortonca Subcetate that, until now, destroyed about 50 hectares of forest pastures and seedlings plantations.
Fire from Bucegi spreads
According to the RRA correspondent, Simon Uta, 100 firefighters, foresters and mountain rescuers work to extinguish the fire that broke out in Bucegi Mountains from Bucegi Park on the administrative territory of Logs.
The fire broke out a week ago, Sunday, July 15, after a lightning stroke a tree that smoldered.
The fire spread to dry vegetation on an area of 300 square meters, on the slope of the Massif Bucegi Prahova, between Great Claia and Buşteni Babele cable car line, in the area called "ridge with aurochs".
The main focus is located at an altitude of about 1700 m, in a hard accessible area that basically makes the fighting action impossible by the usual methods.
The mountain rescues, firefighters and gendarmes in the mountain are still carrying water in bottles and backpacks on the fire area on Bucegi, the route being very rough, one managing to make one race per day.
According to the Rescue chief from Logs, George Haiduc, this is one of the most challenging actions in which are involved all forces, the intervention being hampered not only by the rough terrain, but also by the wind that strongly blows, spreading sparks that light in other areas.
Many volunteers have risen to support the action of firemen and mountain rescue and went into the fire area to try to locate it and its liquidation.
