Doctors at the "Grigore Alexandrescu" Children's Hospital performed the first liver transplant in a child.
The 11-year-old patient had been diagnosed with liver failure and cirrhosis.
After the operation, his condition is stable - the medical unit announced.
The intervention, in which surgeons from the Fundeni Institute also participated, is part of the transplant program recently started by the "Grigore Alexandrescu" Hospital.
