Disposable plastic, "endangered"

Disposable plastic items will be phased out by 2030, according to an emergency ordinance passed by the government, which implements the 2019 European directive.

This includes cutlery, drinking straw, q-tips, plates, balloon sticks or polystyrene containers for food or drink.

Environment Minister Tanczos Barna says producers are prepared for this change by 80-90 percent.
