The employees of Ministry of Interior are not out of concern about dismissing, Minister Traian Igaş keeping his intention to dismiss about 8,500 employees.
Moreover, it is also the subject of a bill that still tries to pass the parliamentary vote.
The Deputy Chamber discussed and adopted on Tuesday the bill on articles, but it only takes one vote in Parliament, because it is about the organic law and the question which arises is that of a quorum of the meeting, meaning the minimum required number of MPs present at the election.
Thus this procedure was probably postponed for the next week.
The bill on dismissals in the Interior Ministry was introduced on Tuesday on the agenda of the Deputy Chamber, at PDL proposal.
The opposition argued that the agenda of a meeting can not be modified under any circumstances, but most deputies decided by vote to debate on this bill.
The project was criticized by the opposition
The bill was criticized by the PSD and Liberals who argued that it was not necessary because the Ministry of Interior does not need a law to dismiss or to respect the budget for 2011.
The Liberal MP, Victor Paul Dobre said that the project is very important and that it must have been supported by Minister of Interior both in committees and in plenary, which had never happened.
Paul Victor Dobre added that the dismissals within the Ministry of Interior would directly affect citizen's safety.
"I believe that this time the government itself is in collision with its government program that you people, here, on the right side of the room, voted, which provides the safety of citizens as a major objective."
"How do we achieve it? By dismissing the staff? What kind of citizen's safety are we talking about, when we announce that we abolish the rural stations", Victor Paul Dobre said.
The Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior, Ioan Dascălu, stated that this bill aims at the budget deficit target for the recruitment and personnel costs, within the budget allocated for 2011.
Ioan Dascălu added that the bill pursues to strengthen police structures in villages.
"Rural police stations will not be abolished, but we consider strengthening the order and public security in rural areas through establishing rural police stations.
"I want you to know that other measures of dismissing will be not necessary in the coming years as it has been done a thorough analysis of the staff dynamics in the Ministry of Interior and Administration and also it has been properly scaled the positions within the competition in schools for officers, and non-commissioned officers and officers in the Ministry of Administration and Interior", Ioan Dascălu said.
The final vote on this bill will be given in a future plenary session and the PSD and the Liberals have already announced they will vote against it.
