Romania could become one of the main transit routes for Ukrainian grain. The subject was discussed at the Victoria Palace by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu with his counterpart from Ukraine, Denis Smihal, who came to Bucharest on Friday.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and his counterpart from Ukraine, Denis Smihal, discussed a series of topics from the bilateral agenda, such as the analysis of security in the region, in the context of the war in the neighboring country. Another topic of discussion was related to the transit of grain from Ukraine through Romania, which now has a volume of two million tons, but Romania is willing to allow the passage of double that amount, with the protection of Romanian farmers.
The two prime ministers also discussed the situation and the way in which the Romanian minority in Ukraine must be protected.
Also, Marcel Ciolacu and Denis Smihal signed three documents, one of which refers to the opening of a new border crossing point between the two states, stated government sources.
