After six years of stage background, businessman Patriciu was acquitted in Rompetrol file for all seven offenses.
Patriciu was accused of embezzlement by DIICOT prosecutors from handling the stock market.
Besides Patriciu, also the other 11 people prosecuted in the same case were acquited by the Bucharest Tribunal.
The magistrates have rejected as unfounded the compensations requested by the Ministry of Finance as well as the confiscation of 9.8 million Euros from Dinu Patriciu and other defendants.
The case went through several phases, from delays to lack of defense, lack of file, complaints to resolve or filing acts until exceptions of unconstitutionality.
During the hearing of 50 trials there were interviewed dozens of witnesses.
Dinu Patriciu is accused of having embezzled and used for his own benefit of 85 million Euros within an agreement between Romania and Libya.
Also, the businessman is accused by prosecutors of organizing and coordinating the trading of shares issued by Rompetrol Refinery to maintain and influence at an artificially level the opening price and trading.
