The Romanian state will take all necessary steps to ensure that Prince Paul of Romania, who was arrested and remanded in custody in Malta, is brought back to the country, said Justice Minister Alina Gorghiu.
She said she would have a dialogue on the matter with her Maltese counterpart.
Alina Ghorghiu recalled that Paul of Romania was sentenced to three years and four months in prison for buying influence and complicity in abuse of office in the case of the illegal restitution of the Baneasa Royal Farm, with a damage of almost €10 million.
She also said that the European arrest warrant issued by the Brasov Court of Appeal had been rejected in the French courts, where the fugitive was staying.
