Day of Romanian Blouse celebrated worldwide
Exhibitions, picnics, fashion shows, concerts, and other artistic events have taken place all across Romania, but also in 60 countries and over 300 cities.

Romanian communities all around the world have celebrated, on 24 June, the Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse – Ia – traditional folk costume. Exhibitions, picnics, fashion shows, concerts, and other artistic events have taken place all across Romania, but also in 60 countries and over 300 cities.
On this day, Romanians and those who love and appreciate Romania and its culture are asked to wear a traditional Romanian blouse or shirt.
In Washington, DC, the Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse was officially recognized in 2015 by the Mayor of DC who proclaimed June 24 as the Universal Day of the Romanian Folk Costume in the Nation's Capital.
Day of the Romanian Blouse is celebrated together with the Fairies Night and with The Birth of the Saint John the Baptist, close to the date of the Summer Solstice in the Northern hemisphere, marking the debut of the astronomic summer.
