Danube Delta: Radar to detect boat speed

Administration of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve is currently experimenting a radar to monitor the speed of the boats that circulate on the Delta canals and lakes.

Until the end of this month, administration will only apply warnings, said Danube Delta Reserve Governor, Mălin Muşetescu.

Under the current legislation, maximum permissible speeds for boats traveling across the Danube Delta are 5, 15 or 40 km / h, depending on different areas of the canals and lakes.
