The results of the Renault group are salvaged by the sales of Dacia cars, and the ‘bold’ performances of the Romanian brand is due to the success of the Sandero and Duster models, comments the publication La Tribune.
"The results of Dacia are saving those of Renault, which is worrying. The Romanian brand exceeded last month 20,000 new car registrations in Europe. The market share approached 2 percent. Dacia is not far from Seat, nor even Hyundai."
"France absorbed 38 percent of the European car registrations of the brand. Not bad at all for a car which originally was not to be sold in Western Europe", La Tribune headlines in an article entitled "The daring success of Dacia in Europe".
The publication points out that Duster’s delays in delivery are still high, and the demand for this model is strong.
Dacia car registrations increased with 18.7 percent in Europe, according to data provided by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, one of the "finest" dynamics on the market, argues La Tribune.
Instead, registrations for Renault have dropped 8.9 percent.
The decrease can be attributed to poor performances on the Spanish market, where French groups have a very important share.
According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, in January, Volkswagen ranked first in sales in the European Union, with over 237,000 sold units and a market share of 22.1 percent.
The PSA (Peugeot Citroen) group ranks second, with sales of 145,472 units, and Renault, together with Dacia sold 110,132 cars and has market share of 10.3 percent.
