D. Barna: The energy crisis in Romania is caused by the lack of investments

Articol de Radiojurnal, 11 Septembrie 2022, 03:26

The vice-president of USR and the Chamber of Deputies, Dan Barna, claims that the entire energy crisis in Romania is caused by the lack of investment in this field.

He mentioned, however, that Romania will get through this winter, but the problem is related to costs:

Dan Barna: Up to now, with the measures taken, the burden is only on the economic environment. There are many companies, which at the moment are in panic, two have even closed their activity, and that is why we are talking about the incompetence of the government in taking some measures. For years, no investments were made, hoping that this crisis would not come. It came and we are in today's situation. A Romania that boasts that it has resources and is not dependent on Russian gas, a Romania that says we have energy resources, that we have hydro resources. We are in a theoretically better position than other European states and yet, exactly in this Romania, it is true, under the management of the energy field by Mr. Popescu, the most expensive energy in Europe has been sold for days now.
