Customs officers from Stânca-Costeşti detained
According to a press release issued by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism, nine customs officers from Stânca-Costeşti were taken by the police because they were suspected of supporting a group of smugglers.

Nine customs officers were arrested on Friday by the DIOCT prosecutors, following the raids at Stânca-Costeşti customs.
According to a press release issued by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism, the nine supported a group of smugglers.
The DIOCT Prosecutors - Suceava Territorial Service, supported by the gendarmes, searched 12 houses in Botoşani, Dorohoi, Stânca, Ripiceni and Româneşti, where they have already found packages likely to be smuglling goods.
The trial was filed against nine customs officers from the new border crossing point Stânca- Costeşti.
They were arrested on Friday morning, along with three other civilian employees, as they were accused of supporting a group of smugglers specialized in the contraband with excise goods, alcohol and cigarettes from Ukraine.
According to investigators, the customs officers taught the smugglers how to pass the products through customs and supported them in their efforts.
The 12 people were conducted at the DIOCT - Suceava Territorial Service for the hearing.
The action is coordinated by the DIOCT prosecutors of Suceava, in collaboration with the Romanian Information Service, who surged the suspects for three months.
Prosecutors will decide whether they should detain them for 24 hours or submit proposal for preventive arrest.
