Finland presents priorities of its EU Council Presidency in the European Parliament.

Finland took over, on 1 July, the six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and is to present its priorities on Wednesday, in the European Parliament plenary in Strasbourg.

If Romania has placed Cohesion at the core of its EU Presidency (January-June 2019), Finland aims European sustainability, under the slogan "Sustainable Europe, Sustainable Future".
Among priorities of the Finnish Presidency are consolidation of common values and the rule of law, increased competitiveness and social inclusion, strengthening position of the EU as a world leader in terms of climate and security of the citizens.
Also today, MEPs will discuss granting humanitarian support, as migrants and asylum seekers continue their efforts to enter Europe through the Mediterranean".
